The young kokle player Namejs Kalniņš from Amata parish released his first kokle album at the age of 15, but he started playing 5 years earlier. Namejs tells the story: “Mu dad had a chance to make an instrument. He then asked me: “Will you play the kokle?” Without hesitation I said: “Yes!” Only later I began to wonder what kokle even sounded like.”
