Andris Mičulis is a legendary singer-songwriter who is known by his unmistakeable voice, his always present Latvian string instrument kokle and the traditional Latvian garter around his head. He is a remarkable figure of the national awakening movement in the 1980ies and 1990ies who played in many gatherings of like-minded people. However, until now there are almost no recordings of his songs, which are mainly his own compositions inspired by the deeper meanings of Latvian folk-songs and mythology.
