The members of the group, who were initially united by their passion for sutartin\u0117s \u2013 archaic Lithuanian polyphonic songs, have now expanded their repertoire to include Estonian and Latvian folk songs. \u201cThe Baltic Sisters\u201d consists of four singers \u2013 Liene Skrebinska and Vineta Rom\u0101ne from Latvia, Mariona Selgalla from Estonia and Laurita Peleni\u016bte from Lithuania.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cOur first album is like a gateway to the world of traditional music of the Baltic States, as we hear it, feel it and tell about it further. In the album, we collected the songs through which we met and got to know each other,\u201d the members of the group say about their first album.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The album features polyphonic folk songs arranged by the group \u2013 a long cry from South Kurzeme, a lyrical song \u201cSoka saule r\u012btiedama\u201d from Latgale, Lithuanian sutartina and Estonian set songs, which are on the UNESCO World Heritage List, as well as several compositions that combine the ethnic music of all three countries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe title=\"The Baltic Sisters Cuckoo song Live\" width=\"680\" height=\"383\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/2tl9y7UN_Iw?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>The album <a href=\"https:\/\/lauska.lv\/veikals\/Preces\/varav-varti-vartai\/\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/lauska.lv\/veikals\/Preces\/varav-varti-vartai\/\">&#8220;V\u00e4rav \/ V\u0101rti \/ Vartai&#8221;<\/a> (Estonian, Latvian and Lithuanian for \u201cgate\u201d) was released by the German label \u201cCPL-Music\u201d. It can be listened to on\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/bfan.link\/varav-varti-vartai\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">all streaming platforms<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The album was recorded in Vilnius, Lithuania (sound director Tadas De\u0161ukas) and Riga, Latvia (sound director Gatis Gaujenieks), mixed and mastered by Gatis Gaujenieks at the studio \u201cGEM Plus\u201d.
