Austris Grasis is one of the founders of the Latvian folklore movement in the Latvian emigration, particularly in Germany since the 1970ies. Now living in Latvia he continues to actively play and sing and participates in diverse folkloristic activities. Austris Grasis is one of the few folkmusicians who plays the clarinet, which can be heard in this recording.
